Pistachio & Rose Sugar Madeleine

Madeleine. That little delicate French butter tea cake known for it’s beautiful and distinct scalloped shell shape.

Flavours for Madeleines are endless from sweet to savoury, but we like ours with pistachio, a hint of cardamom and garnished with a delicate rose scented sugar.

It’s the prettiest tea time treat for Eid.

Enjoy Lots Of Love 💗

Gajar Ka Halwa Tres Leches Cake

𝐎𝐨𝐩𝐬 𝐈 𝐝𝐢𝐝 𝐢𝐭 𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐢𝐧 !

3 years ago I baked my first Tres Leches recipe which is a soft, tender cake, pored over a mixture of three milks – sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, and full cream milk.

I have previously shared this recipe in flavours of Rose and Rasmalai, and today I present to you another beautiful flavour – “Gajar Ka Halwa”

I have been so excited to share this recipe with you for a while but I couldn’t post until you tried my Gajar Ka Halwa recipe first, and now that is out of the way you can finally try this gorgeous milk cake!

It’s absolutely delicious and I’m certain you are going to love it as much I do!

BKD Notes:

Tres Leches Cake recipe originally inspired from The Pioneer Woman

You can make the Gajar Ka Halwa in advance and freeze little to use for the cake.

You can add orange food colour to the cake to resemble Gajar Halwa

You can replace Gajar Halwa flavours with rose, pistachio & saffron. Please refer to my website for alternative flavour recipes

Bagels

In the month of Ramadan I bake bagels everyday to enjoy with yogurt, dates and Dukkah spice, my kids love it with a spread of Nutella and chopped strawberries. We like our bagels in Ramadan crispy on the outside but chewy and soft on the inside.

For the past 3 years you have been asking me for this recipe and I am finally sharing it with you.

This recipe is so easy that you will never need to buy bagels again, it only requires self raising flour, Greek yogurt and salt!

1 & 3/4 cup self raising flour

Pinch of salt

Method

1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees

2. Combine flour, yogurt and salt in a mixer and mix till it forms a dough

3. Sprinkle flour and knead for 1 min (can do by hand or machine)

4. Roll dough into balls, poke a hole in the center of each ball, then gently stretch the dough into a ring and add onto baking tray

5. Whisk egg with pinch of salt, egg wash and add sesame seeds

6. Bake for up to 20 mins or till lightly brown

BKD Notes:

– If dough is sticky add more flour

– add flour onto hands while working with dough
